Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Technician to join our team. The Quality Technician will be crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through Inspection and analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in QA/QC processes and possess the ability to conduct thorough quality audits.
The Quality Control Technician will support the solar module manufacturing process by ensuring the highest possible product reliability and quality performance levels. This role control the level of product quality through frontline quality inspections in support of production. This role supports the production process to ensure we meet or exceed all production safety, line output, yield, customer delivery, cost, and product quality/reliability targets .
Responsibilities:
- Supports production line in meeting the required product quality and reliability levels by company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for verifying that the product conforms to quality control specifications.
- Provides daily support of the production line process through quality control inspections of the product in line at each phase of the process throughout the production line.
- Supports the department Quality Engineers in all areas, including data capture and quality or reliability improvement programs for the factory.
- Performs sample test plans and monitors daily and weekly production runs to ensure ongoing quality and reliability stability under the guidance of the Reliability and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Performs outgoing Inspection on finished product and sample auditing daily to maintain quality control of finished product.
- Participates in quality improvement or customer relationship teams as assigned.
- Completes data collection or test reports on product reliability and quality performance as Quality Engineers assigns.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Education and Experience :
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- A 2-year technical degree or some college is preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in relevant quality support function or area.
- Experience in a high volume, complex, solar, semiconductor, or similar manufacturing field.
- Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) certification and Six Sigma training are a plus.
- Experience with advanced quality control methods, statistical process control, variation reduction, and quality performance analysis methods and tools
Skills:
- Proficient in QA/QC methodologies and processes
- Experience with coordinate measuring machines for accurate measurements
- Strong analytical skills to effectively analyze data and results
- Knowledge of quality inspection techniques and best practices
- Familiarity with quality management systems and procedures
- Understanding of HACCP principles for food safety compliance
- Ability to fabricate components as needed for inspections
- Experience in conducting quality audits to ensure regulatory compliance
- Familiarity with vision inspection systems for detailed assessments
- Knowledge of CGMP guidelines for pharmaceutical manufacturing
Physical Demands:
- Support a 12-hour production shift schedule for the high-paced manufacturing operation.
- Frequently lift, carry, move and position objects weighing up to 51 pounds unassisted, when performing essential job functions.
- Extended time standing or walking on a hard production floor with confined spaces, multiple turns, or rooms.
- Bend, stoop, crouch, ascend, and descend regularly when performing essential job functions.
- Constantly observe, assess, inspect, detect, convey, and exchange information when performing essential job functions.
