Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Athletic Coach for Girls Lacrosse to join our team at Dr. Phillips High School. The Athletic Coach will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring student-athletes, promoting skill development, and fostering a positive team environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for athletics, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance the skills and performance of student-athletes.
· Plan and conduct regular practice sessions, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
· Provide guidance, motivation, and mentorship to student-athletes, both on and off the field.
· Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and integrity.
· Coordinate with school administrators, athletic director, and coaching staff to ensure compliance with school policies, rules, and regulations.
· Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, and other stakeholders regarding team schedules, expectations, and progress.
· Attend and actively participate in meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities related to coaching and athletic training.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports science, or related field preferred.
· Valid coaching certification from the state, either a 3-year temporary certificate or a 5-year renewable certificate.
· Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher, preferably in the specific sport(s) being coached.
· Strong knowledge of the rules, techniques, and strategies of the sport(s) being coached.
· Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their full potential.
· Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
