We are looking for dedicated and highly qualified professionals in Aviation Maintenance to support the Contractual effort in FRCSE.
The Aircraft Mechanic II must have:
- a thorough knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting, repair procedures and replacement parts;
- broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair;
- basic knowledge of electrical theory;
- thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers; and working knowledge of technical publications
Duties and Responsibilities:
- based on blueprints job orders, engineering specifications and/or maintenance instructions) disassemble, repair, rework and install various systems and components such as wings, control surfaces, control systems, landing gear, arresting gear, fuel cells, instrumentation, ejection seats and engines;
- install hydraulic tubing, actuating cylinders and cable controls;
- rig, adjust and perform preflight tests on various flight systems including landing gear, flight controls, instruments, oxygen/ environmental systems and power plants;
- install complete fuel systems including self-sealing fuel cells;
- be trained and certified by International Mobile Air Conditioning Association (IMACA) or other industry certification equal to IMACA, to service all Freon type aircraft cockpit or cabin air conditioning systems. (These systems could utilize R-12 Freon, R-134 Freon, or some other Freon.);
- be able to recover Freon, repair the system, including removal and replacement (R&R) of components, refurbishment (e.g. replacement of seals and/or O-rings) for Freon type conversion and recharge of the Freon system; and
- perform operational tests of cockpit pressurization and defogging systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The Aircraft Mechanic shall have at least two years of documented experience in Aerospace and/or Aircraft mechanical procedures and processes.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be a High School Graduate
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance
- Must be able to meet physical requirements associated with and / or pass any medical examination requirements related to performing daily assigned task.
- Must past pre-employment background check.
- Must past pre-employment and post-employment drug testing.
Preferred Qualification:
- Active Secret clearance
- at least 4 years of documented experience in Aerospace and/or Aircraft mechanical procedures and processes
