Production Lead/Equipment Operator is an essential role in the Village PieMaker process. The Lead/Operator ensures that all food processing equipment is ready, working and runs at the production goal pace. Using the correct steps to operate the machine, ensuring the quality is meeting the standards and that everything is flowing. Communicates with other leads, supervisors and team members, to meet the daily production needs in accordance with the organization’s protocols. Assisting the Production Manager as needed with tasks in the production area. Primary Responsibilities
· Abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, GMP’s, SQF and instructions.
· Understanding basic equipment, maintenance and operations of equipment, able to make assessments and troubleshooting as needed and able to escalate to the Plant Manager as needed.
· Oversee safe operation of the equipment ensuring the SOP’s are followed
· Maintain the operation of the equipment ensuring the quality of product is correct
· Ensure the pace of the machine meets the production goals!
· Handle minor issues and escalate to maintenance as needed.
· Monitor quality and quantity of pies and ingredients.
· Able to put the equipment together safely and disassemble this for start up and end of shift
· Able to make minor adjustments to the equipment as directed by Plant Manager and understand when it is needed to escalate concerns or issues.
· All other production responsibilities as detailed in the Production Team Member description.
· Oversee the assembly of food items
· Oversee the measuring and blending of ingredients for dough or fruit filling
· Coordinate daily production between Table Leads
· Handle minor issues and escalate as needed
· Monitor quality and quantity of pies and ingredients
· Count and record pies for inventory, record end of day production numbers
· All other production responsibilities as detailed in the Production Team Member description
Position Requirements
· High School Diploma or equivalent required, associate degree or above preferred
· Previous food production equipment operation experience preferred
· Ability to read and communicate in basic English for business operations
· Regular and timely attendance is required
· Ability to lift to 10 pounds frequently, and 25 pounds occasionally
· Ability to stand for long periods of time
· Effectively lead groups of employees
· Ability to work overtime on occasion when necessary to meet production goals
· Communicate in a professional manner with managers, other supervisors and all staff
· Understand and follow company procedures, policies and directions
· Work in a cold environment for long periods of time (40 degrees to 65 degrees) and very brief exposure to the freezer environment (-20 degrees F) on occasion
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $28.00 per hour
