Job Title: Irrigation & Landscape Estimator Project Manager
Reports to: OPS Manager, Landscape Group
Job Summary: The Irrigation & Landscape Estimator Project Manager at Thompson’s is responsible for delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions to clients’ design challenges while ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This role plays a crucial part in increasing company revenues through effective estimation, sales, and business development activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Estimation:
- Maintain sales levels necessary to keep Thompson’s crews operational on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Develop new business opportunities to meet sales targets.
- Generate accurate cost estimates, proposals, and contracts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company standards.
- Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new leads through networking and relationship building.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry associations to support business growth and client retention.
- Project Management:
- Coordinate closely with clients and production staff to ensure seamless project execution from design through to installation.
- Conduct follow-up calls with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
- Design and Innovation:
- Create and present creative landscape and irrigation designs that integrate client goals and industry best practices.
- Stay updated on new products, techniques, and native plant species relevant to project designs.
- Administrative and Professional Standards:
- Adhere to high standards of professionalism, including punctuality, communication, and confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and organized office space and adhere to Thompson’s employee appearance and safety policies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design preferred; alternatively, a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in landscaping and irrigation.
- Proficiency in estimating and using software such as Blue Beam (or similar), Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints effectively.
- Familiarity with native plant species is advantageous.
