TITLE: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

SUMMARY:
Seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team. As a member of the Executive Management team, the CFO will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company and driving the company's financial strategy and planning. Working with the CEO, oversees the development and implementation of HR-focused strategies and policies that will result in the continued staff retention, loyalty and growth of the agency. Responsible for the compliance activities related with state and federal employment guidelines. Responsible for promoting the overall image of the agency both internally and externally. Conducts research into outside funding sources relevant to our mission, and engages in the grant writing process related to its submission.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Accounting Specialists, HR Generalist, Administrative Assistant
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS:
1. Reviews with the board’s Budget and Finance committee financials and operational budgets; Leads the agency’s annual budget development process.
2. Ensures the accounting team maintains policies and procedures for Accounting Dept. based on sound accounting principles.
3. Directs the creation of financial impact studies for new ventures and/or existing cost center changes as part of the executive team planning.
4. Works with Kuhn’s vendor for vehicle operations to coordinate purchase and repair costs for agency vans.
5. Responsible for all fiscal reports required by funding sources and other agency contracts.
6. Participates in agency development and fundraising activities.
7. Provides input to the CEO regarding employee compensation and benefits policies and conformity of the performance evaluation program.
8. Maintains compliance with government human resources regulations; Supervise benefits administration.
9. Working with the HR Generalist and Accounting team, create and direct wage and hour procedures and weekly payroll.
10. Supports the HR department to maintain accurate and timely training materials, information and manuals critical to the management philosophy.
11. Monitors the agency’s employee performance evaluation process, and provides summary information to executive management team as appropriate.
12. Works with the executive team to develop, enhance and/or revise policies and procedures.
13. Coordinates agency technology needs with IT vendors to ensure adequate support, and smooth-running operations including compliance with HIPAA and all other State and Federal requirements.
14. Researches and recommends operating systems and software to achieve accuracy and efficiency in agency processes; supports related implementation and training.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. BS in Accounting, Business Management or related field. MS preferred.
2. Four/ five years of management experience. Direct non-profit, Human Service experience & strong HR skills preferred.
3. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong verbal & written skills and proven ability to lead others.
4. Valid driver’s license and available means of transportation.
5. Automobile insurance in force per Kuhn’s specifications when using personal vehicle for work related purposes.
6. Accounting and business software literate. Ability to manage accounts payable and receivable filing system.
7. Possesses strong computer skills.
