Director of Manufacturing
About the Company
Harbor House Collective is a minority owned recreational, vertically integrated marijuana establishment involved in the cultivation, manufacturing, and dispensing of adult-use premium cannabis. HHC is family run, seeking hard working individuals to join our growing team.
This position will report directly to the CEO. The Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing operations of a cannabis cultivation and/or processing facility. This individual is responsible for ensuring that all extracted products are produced safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of quality possible. This role requires a deep understanding of extraction techniques, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of product quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
1. Build detailed production schedule for solventless and hydrocarbon extraction to meet production needs consistent with Master Production Schedule.
2. Allocate resources such as personnel and inputs to meet the production schedule. Ensure that all equipment and ingredients are in stock and ready to meet production deadlines.
3. Manage inventory of raw materials, solvents, and finished product and maintain accurate records of all inventory and production activities.
4. Review and validate edible production schedule. Coordinate with Kitchen Manager on needs for extraction inputs for edibles.
5. Oversee education of kitchen/lab staff. Oversee training and supervisor staff while providing regular feedback.
6. Quality assurance of all kitchen/Lab products. Ensure edibles, hydrocarbon extracts, distillate, and solventless products are manufactured compliantly and meet HHC quality standards.
7. Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and operating manuals for all kitchen and lab production.
8. Implement new product development strategy to get products to market.
9. Implement staff meetings to make sure company goals are achieved.
10. Manage the testing of all lab and kitchen products. Develop simplified and data driven process for purge times, R & D, and final tests.
11. Verify that all products are tested and packaged within three weeks or less of being manufactured or have an outlined process for getting to market.
12. Increase packaging efficiency by implementing best practices and researching automated packaging equipment.
13. Identify opportunities to implement technology/automation, reduce production labor, increase output, etc. Develop proposals with the help of the engineering team to present ideas for improvements and include cost, ROIs, downtime, and other key factors.
14. Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedule for all lab and kitchen equipment.
15. Record production on logs and in compliance systems (METRC, Dutchie).
16. Develop and implement incentive plan using both qualitative and quantity metrics to engage and maximize output.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, or a related field.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably in the cannabis industry.
- Experience with GMP and other quality management systems.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape in the cannabis industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and other manufacturing software.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
