As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence within the music copyright administration sector. Leveraging your industry expertise and network, you will identify strategic opportunities, forge partnerships, and cultivate relationships to enhance our client base and grow our revenue streams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful business development, be detail oriented, organized, have an analytical approach to problem solving, and share our passion for supporting music creators.
What You Will Be Doing:

Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to achieve revenue targets and increase market share.

Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including music publishers, songwriters, composers, rights aggregators, and industry associations.

Collaborate with the executive team to develop pricing strategies, service enhancements, and marketing initiatives to drive growth and differentiate our services in the market.

Lead negotiations for contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with company objectives.

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify risks and opportunities for the business.

Travel as needed to support business development initiatives.

Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

What Makes You Qualified:

Bachelor’s degree in music business, business administration, related field or equivalent experience.

3+ years professional business development experience in the digital music industry.

Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and establishing strategic partnerships.

Expertise in generating leads, pipeline management and closing deals.

Deep understanding of music publishing administration, copyright law, and royalty structures.

Excellent skills in writing targeted content for cold calls/emails.

Experience cold calling and performing sales outreach that results in successful business development opportunities.

Demonstrated experience attending events, networking, and developing and fostering strong business relationships.
