Title: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor
Reports To: Inventory Manager & Director of Warehouse
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Shift: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday
30-minute lunch break at 12 noon and two 15-minute breaks at 10 am and 2 pm.
Salary: $40,000 - $48,000
Role Description
Cenmed Enterprises, established in 1992, has grown from a small two-person operation to one of the largest privately held laboratory distributors in the New York Tri-State area. You represent over 2000 manufacturers and sell all major medical and laboratory equipment directly. As the Shipping & Receiving supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in efficiently operating our Shipping & Receiving Departments, ensuring the seamless flow of our goods into and out of our organization. Your leadership will be instrumental in supervising receiving clerks, managing truck unloading activities, and coordinating delivery operations to maintain the integrity of our inventory.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Supervision:

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of receiving clerks.

Provide guidance, training, and support to foster a high-performing team environment.

Daily supervision of the Shipping & Receiving department.

Monitors daily operations to ensure employees meet established schedules while following safety procedures.

Hold oversight over our delivery trucks and drivers and their weekly delivery schedules.

Responsible for ensuring that the shipping and receiving operation meets its goals and efficiently complies with existing standards and procedures. An incumbent is required to direct the workflow and train it as necessary.

Acquires, trains, develops, supervises, and retains qualified employees as appropriate.
2. Receiving Operations:

Oversee the timely and accurate receipt of incoming shipments.

Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
3. Efficient Unloading Processes:
- Supervise and organize the unloading of trucks.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and efficient handling of goods.
4. Forklift Operations Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate forklift operations within the receiving department.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
5. Inventory Control and Accuracy:
- Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain accurate stock records.
- Conduct regular cycle counts & audits to verify inventory levels and address any discrepancies.
6. Documentation:
- Oversee the accurate recording of received goods in the inventory system.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date receiving documentation.
7. Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality control measures for incoming shipments.
- Address and report any issues related to damage or defects promptly.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including purchasing and warehouse management, to ensure seamless coordination in the supply chain.
