Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure while following Actalent’s Services Management Framework (SMF). The Project Manager will work closely with Technical Managers to procure resources for projects and with internal support functions to deliver a great customer experience while providing leadership and direction to our project teams and ensure that all projects meet their Cost, Quality and Timing requirements. This role requires maintaining and growing relationships with key customer stakeholders and Actalent’s resources to enhance project performance in support of customer(s).
Duties:
Manage multiple center-based/onsite managed projects through all phases of development, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control and closure while following Actalent’s Services Management Framework
- Ensure compliance to customer specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements, company work rules and procedures and safety requirements
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules and documentation including change management, risk mitigation and reporting
- Develop tracking methods to monitor customer and internal KPI
- Work closely with Delivery Operation’s team to align project management with account management
- Distribute workflow from customer to Group Leaders and Practice Managers to allocate to their teams
- Maintain a high level of relationships with all customer stakeholders
- Utilize program management skills of communication, presentation, time management, organization and planning to successfully achieve program goals and objectives and SLA’s
- Conduct periodic status meetings with customers and team to assess progress against the plan
- Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly status reports to Actalent management and appropriate client recipients
- Work closely with Delivery Operations to resolve all project issues with customer and suppliers as appropriate while working with Actalent’s internal teams
- Support Business Development and Delivery Managers in pursuit of opportunities
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years professional experience; 5 years plant engineering experience as individual contributor with
5 years experience in project engineering, project lead or project management role(s)
- Technical experience with P&ID’s, plant build and installation oversight, contractor selection and management
and construction management required
- Engineering experience in multiple industries (i.e. food&beverage processing, transportation/heavy equipment,
industrial products manufacturing, package/parcel handling environments ect.) highly desired
- Experience working for engineering services providers strongly preferred
- Ability to effectively present to large customer groups
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with managing large dispersed teams with diverse skillsets
- Team player with ability to work in a highly cross-functional and virtual environment
- Ability to travel when needed, up to 10%
- PMP Certified a plus; proven knowledge of project management methods required
- Highly proficient in PC applications- MS Office suite of tools.
