Medical receptionist needed for a busy multidisciplinary wellness office. We offer great working environment/ benefits, ability to grow with the company. We are hiring for 2 locations - 1) Wall St./Financial District and 2) Flatiron/Chelsea.
Role summary: Greet patients and other visitors with professionalism; direct all people to the appropriate provider and services; be courteous, polite and helpful to the public and clients at all times; Operations in the Scheduling and Billing systems used by the company; Conducing insurance verifications.
Essential Job Functions:
- Respect and maintain privacy and dignity of patients; assure patient confidentiality at all time (HIPAA compliance)
- Provide efficient and professional telephone services; Appropriate screen and transfer of the calls in a timely manner.
- Registering patients according to company protocols.
- Assist patients in accurately completing appropriate forms, and document all information accordingly.
- Schedule appointments for patients according to established procedures.
- Collect and post fees according to protocols; prepare and balance daily financial registries and submit appropriate information to billing department;
- Maintain forms, office supplies required for front desk activities as well as organization and cleanliness of reception and waiting area in accordance with company standards.
- Assure readiness of the reception area for each working day; have station fully operational by the start of shift.
- Investigate patient information to accurately obtain all information needed for further office operations (e.g. billing)
- Skilled and efficient cooperation with a high performance medical team.
Essential Skills and Experience: Experience as a receptionist, preferably in healthcare setting; Warm, outgoing personality; Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with clients of all backgrounds; Excellent phone skills and etiquette; Ability to work well under pressure and in a busy environment; Ability to work effectively and accurately; Must have computer knowledge and most of the popular software.
