Role and Responsibilities
The APQP Manager contributes to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, process and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. The APQP Manager is responsible for timely and accurate PPAP submissions. Works with Engineering/Project Management throughout project development process to achieve customer milestones. Leads APQP process by analyzing customer requirements and ensuring products will comply. Works with Production Quality and Quality Systems Manager to maintain company certifications, namely IATF 16949. Will cross train with the Production Quality Manager to fill in as needed for each other.
- Implements Apollo Plastics’ quality culture through their leadership and guidance
- Audits quality system, identifies, and resolves deficiencies by completing audits, determining system improvements, and implementing change
- Manages and implements quality system requirements as defined by the ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards in conjunction with Apollo Plastics Quality Management Systems
- Work with purchasing department to oversee supplier management system
- Oversee PPAP, CP, PFMEA submissions as required for new projects
- Work directly with customer Advanced Quality during project development to ensure requirements are clearly and properly defined, and complied by Apollo in a timely manner to ensure successful product launches
- Work with engineering as an APQP team – review quality requirements and compliance of new projects during quotation and DFM phases
- Work with Quality Manager to translate customer requirements into Quality Control specs and their implementation into production via Control Plans, Work Instruction, Quality Alerts or other methods.
- Cross-train with Production Quality Manager to support each other
- Manage all inspection reports for accuracy
- Other duties as assigned by company Vice President.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Experienced in APQP, PPAP, and Quality Management Systems (QMS) – 5 years minimum
- Experience in leading APQP, PPAP and QMS activities with customer interaction
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and experience receiving IATF 16949 audits
- Experience in manufacturing, or product management, for the automotive industry – 3 years minimum
- Competent in problem solving, planning and decision making
- Proactively contribute to creating a good team working environment

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
