Roles and Responsibilities
G2 is excited to be hiring a Associate, FP&A who will report directly to our Vice President, Head of Finance and be part of a lean and valued Finance team that supports G2’s work and people. This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals looking to progress their careers within financial services at a firm that strongly emphasizes employee growth and development. The Associate, FP&A will own several important functions including financial planning & analysis, financial reporting, and compensation. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, efficiency, and the development and implementation of key financial systems, processes, and controls. This role will be located out of our Boston office on a hybrid basis (3 days/week on-site, 2 remote).
What You’ll Do
- (50%) Financial Planning and Analysis
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and analysis to support strategic decision-making including monthly project P&L statements, financial statements, and leadership reports
- Own the quarterly / annual budgeting and forecasting processes and perform monthly revenue, expense and headcount analysis.
- Partner with the accounting team during financial close to align completeness and accuracy from both reporting and forecasts.
- Define KPIs, build dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights on spend
- Collaborate with leadership to monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for financial optimization and enable strategic decisions
- Develop and implement strategies and technologies for improving financial operations and processes to achieve organization efficiency
- Manage compensation program including Executive Compensation Program and all other bonus programs
- Develop and maintain compensation models
- In coordination with Senior Associate, Talent, conduct regular benchmarking and analysis to ensure equity and competitiveness
- Prepare compensation statements; be available to meet with employees to answer questions regarding same
- (25%) Resource Management
- Lead the resource management efforts by collaborating closely with deal leads and HR to manage all resource allocation (staffing)
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc staffing reports
- Run staffing portion of weekly pipeline meetings
- Evaluate and forecast staffing optimization/utilization
What We Look For
- 5 years of practical experience in finance, accounting or consulting
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required
- Demonstrated advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
- Exposure to complex compensation/commission programs
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools
- Proficiency with accounting software and tools; knowledge of Quickbooks online is a plus
- Experience with time and expense software (Harvest, Concur, etc.)
- Proven ability to operate independently, synthesize complex data, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
