Summary:
Under the direction of the Transportation Manager, the Fleet Supervisor will serve as the primary contact concerning damage to the fleet and will work to minimize potential disruptions to the logistics flow. The Fleet Supervisor will have oversight of the fleet’s repair, service, and maintenance workload and history.
Essential Functions:
- Train and instruct team members on equipment inspection methods and verify quality equipment inspections are being performed.
- Partner with garage operations to ensure that equipment is being serviced on time to meet operating schedules.
- Ensure that quality and quantity of repair work is being maintained and the established maintenance procedures are being followed.
- Ensure that part changeovers are being made as directed and that all costs are being controlled within acceptable limits.
- Responsible for conducting walking safety audits to ensure facilities are operating in a safe manner and are in compliance with all OSHA and company safety regulations.
- Review work methods to identify cost saving areas.
- Work closely with transportation personnel and 3PL vendors to ensure that proper service is being delivered to each department.
- Responsible for the compliance and safe-operating condition of the equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance at specific intervals.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean garage, identifying trip, slips, and falls, and any other Hazards to 3PL workspaces.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2 years of related transportation maintenance experience required.
- 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
