The Galileo School for Gifted Learning is a public charter school in Seminole County. Our mission is to offer innovative, research-based education in a nurturing environment for gifted and talented students and those who want to learn in a gifted learning environment that will challenge them to pursue their passionate interests in service to others.
The Galileo School is inviting applications for the following position:
Certified Science Teacher, Middle School: The teacher assists students in discovering their academic potential, diagnoses student errors and misconceptions, promotes a positive learning environment, stays current on the latest research on teaching and learning, uses data to drive instructional decision-making, and facilitates students’ development cognitively, socially, and emotionally. It is a full-time, 10 month appointment with benefits.
Qualifications: Minimum qualifications for consideration include a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, certification in Science grades 5-9, or 6-12, or eligibility for a temporary certificate, and a strong passion for teaching and commitment to innovation in education. Preference will be given to candidates who have a gifted education endorsement or certification, who have strong subject matter content knowledge in science, who have experience teaching twice exceptional students, and/or who have an ESOL endorsement or certification, K-12 ESE certification, or a reading endorsement.
NOTE: All teachers without their gifted endorsement or certification will be required to obtain it before the end of their second year of employment at Galileo School.

Salary: $50,500 - $65,000 for a 10 month, full-time position. Salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience and education. Salary is prorated based on start date.
