PRID is seeking a highly motivated and detailed oriented fulltime position for a Design Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with our senior partner and company president to assist with all aspects of the interior architectural design process, from concept development to project completion. Ideal candidates should possess at least 5 years of working in highend design related field. You will be responsible for conducting research, participation with design plans, and communicating with clients and contractors to ensure that all projects are completed to the highest standards.
The Design Assistant provides support to the company Principal and lead designer.
Position Requirements
· Help with all facets of interior design & administration.
· Attend all client meeting in locally and out of state to assist Principal and Senior Designer.
· Take notes at all meetings - create minutes & disperse to team.
· Liaise with and oversee on site work of vendors, contractors, including but not limited to window treatments, art installations and furniture installations.
· Assist with all design related activities such as preparing for presentations and product research.
· Assist in the management of project timelines and suggest updates and/or changes to stay on schedule.
· Collaborate with the design team and [Senior] Installation Managers to assist with the installation of projects.
· Create agendas for all meetings.
· Help maintain a neat and organized office.
· Schedule for Senior designer / Principal
· Create Design binders for team members.
· Maintain material and sample library, files, and overall office organization.
· Answer phones if Junior Designer is out.
Skills and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in interior design. Design or architecture experience, including high end residential or commercial, preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Pages. Studio Designer Software.
· Compose Proposals and Purchase Orders
· Follow up on orders and complete status reports monthly
· Fabric reserves, CFA's and COL's
· Represent the company professionally to clients and vendors.
· Design and Administrative skills - are a must.
