The Field Service Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial instruments and valves. This role involves providing on-site service to customers in various industrial settings, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and meets safety and quality standards. The position requires travel to customer locations and must be willing and able to travel.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Install and commission new instruments and valves, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and customer requirements.
- Perform routine calibration and preventive maintenance on instruments and valves, including pressure, temperature, flow, and level sensors, as well as control and safety valves.
- Diagnose and repair faults in instruments and valves, both on-site and remotely, to minimize downtime and maintain optimal operation.
- Conduct functional testing and inspection of equipment to ensure performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding the operation and maintenance of instruments and valves.
- Maintain detailed service reports, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for follow-up actions. Update service records in the company database.
- Train customers on the proper use and maintenance of their instruments and valves.
- Adhere to all relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies during all service activities.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for service calls and scheduled maintenance.
Here’s what will set you apart:
- Experience with installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of tank gauging systems.
- Experience with ultrasonic level and flow measurement devices, including their configuration and maintenance.
- Experience with SIS, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Skills you’ll need:
- Associate degree or technical diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and valve maintenance, preferably in a field service capacity.
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of instruments and valves. Familiarity with PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems, as well as various communication protocols (Modbus, HART, Profibus).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, lift heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods.
