This unique role combines the responsibilities of a Scheduler with the opportunity to develop into a Project Manager, providing a pathway for career growth and development.
Here's how a Project Manager for our Civil Infrastructure office contributes to our team:
Scheduling

Compile and maintain weekly resource schedule updates (P6) and conducting schedule (resource priority) meetings.

Review and maintain statistics on project schedule updates, ensuring accuracy and timely communication.

Collaborate with various departments and project teams to understand resource priority scheduling requirements.

Train project teams on scheduling and review their project schedules, addressing any issues promptly.

Provide administrative support related to scheduling, including preparing and distributing agendas and documentation.

Monitor and report on scheduling trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Project Management

Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to the project.

Develop and implement project safety plans, leading by example for health and safety practices.

Ensure the project is constructed per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.

Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefits.

Manage project performance and provide performance status reports for safety, cost, forecast, and schedule.

Negotiate and issue subcontracts, revisions, major purchase orders, and progress payments, and monitor their progress and schedule.

Participate in overall project commissioning and closeout.

Engineering Technology diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Minimum 3 years of industry experience with basic knowledge of construction specifications, building materials, methods, and procedures.

Understanding of field construction operations and logical sequencing of work through all project phases.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to apply basic engineering and planning principles to construction challenges.

Ability to work independently or in a team environment with multiple stakeholders.

Ability to prioritize work under strict timelines in a fast-paced environment.

Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software (Primavera P6 EPPM preferred).

In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, safety, and quality management practices.

Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
