This position works in collaboration with the Quality Engineer (QE) check for conformance to industry and company quality standards, policies, procedures, and programs; all in an effort to prevent non-conforming product from reaching the customer’s hands.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Know and abide by company rules and policies with regards to safety and conduct, including the use and maintenance of company provided PPE.
- Flexible schedule is required in regards to overtime and start time according to work volumes.
- Other duties may be assigned by a manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Inspect for and report quality issues to the QE, and Engineering Technicians so each issue can be addressed accordingly.
- Perform random visual spot checks in different areas of the manufacturing process such as (but not limited to) shipping, Labeling, and Pre-Paint, to identify and fix the non-conforming product prior to leaving the plant.
- Responsible for signing off on any RMA/Rework prior to being sent back to the customer.
- Assist in the development of a QC check process.
- Assist in inspecting finished product when needed and with special projects.
- Responsible for performing in house Offline inspections.
- Performing product conformance label assignments.
Required skills:
- 2+ years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Highly organized with sharp attention to detail.
- Communicate and work well in routine/unplanned circumstances with sales, team leads, and shop personnel.
- Capable of utilizing different types of measuring devices such as tape measure and digital/analog calipers.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn to be able to grow within the company.
- Understanding of 5S and lean manufacturing a plus.
- Experience working in the Hollow Metal Industry a plus.
- General office experience including copying, scanning and filing activities.
- Strong computer skills, specifically typing, data entry, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Heavy Excel knowledge preferred.
- Strong organization skills and detail orientation.
- Customer service focused with strong communication and follow up skill.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Results Driven.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
