BASIC REQUIREMENTS: ALL Applicants must be: 18 years of Age. Able to Pass a Drug Test. Legally Eligible to Work in the US. Valid drivers' license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, & Experience:
o Plan and perform all work under all OSHA Standards. Must have Trench Safety and Confined Space training.
o Examine and inspect work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that specifications are met.
o Responsible for the safety of the crew. Planning, scheduling and coordinating the work
o Read construction drawings and blueprints.
o Complete all necessary documentation and paperwork as required daily and properly including but not limited to: Time sheets, Trench Logs, Bore Log Sheets, etc.
o Take measurements off blueprints; figure and shoot grade/elevations for construction requirements.
o Organize crew, materials, and equipment to achieve highest productivity and quality and lowest cost in line with the budget.
o Record and report equipment and material use; work production and employee work hours on specified forms.
o Continuously check the work of crew and adjust the work or plan and schedule as required. o Maintain inventory of equipment and materials well in advance of the need.
o Able to demonstrate thorough knowledge and skill of installing underground utility pipe, fittings, valves, and piping systems.
o Able to operate excavator/loader.
o Must be a good communicator, motivator, and team player.
o Able to read plans and do general layout. Should be familiar with installing different types of underground pipe and be able to shoot elevations.
o Maintain understanding of trenching, excavation, and backfill.
o Performs installation of pipe, fittings, valves, and piping systems.
o Install, diagnose and repair/replace pipe, fitting, and components for piping systems such above and below grade.
o Prepare, maintain and submit documentation, correspondence and paperwork, manage parts ordering and usage, prepare and record field drawings (as-built) for the purpose of ensuring that the projects are completed with satisfactorily to all guiding standards.
o Prioritize workload and operate within a defined budget.
o Maintain regular, consistent, and professional attendance, and punctuality.
o Must fill out documentation in a legible manner.
o Conduct safety tailgate meetings.
Bi-lingual preferred, but not required.
In order to be considered for the superintendent position, any potential candidate(s) must possess at minimum (4)+ yrs of traceable experience in all aspects of underground utilities installation of storm, sewer, water, and reclaim pipe.
