Looking for an Experienced Venue Sales and Events Manager to join our team. Prior work experience in a venue or a high-end hotel as sales and catering manager or an event coordinator is required. Need to have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate must be driven with a positive, can-do attitude. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Position Objective: Generate revenue by booking and managing weddings, corporate events and other social events at one of the most desired Event Venues in Houston.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the venue sales process
- Develop and pursue new sales leads
- Conduct venue tours with prospective clients
- Be able to successfully close a deal with the client
- Manage contract execution and book keeping for all clients
- Maintain relationships with clients & event planners
- Supervise venue staff to ensure every event is executed flawlessly
- Manage periodic open houses
- Respond to and handle guest problems and complaints quickly and courteously
Requirements:
- Professional attitude and appearance, with an ability to interact with a variety of clients to gain trust and book key events. The ability to communicate and address client needs and concerns through the course of client contract, culminating in a successful, flawless event.
- Experience in working with all size events, making floor plans, timelines, vendor interaction and vendor management.
- Experience in working in tandem with Executive Chef and the event management team to ensure event details are handled perfectly.
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Must be able to respond to all customer phone/email inquiries in a timely manner
- Demonstrate time management and organizational skills
- Highly motivated and detail oriented
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work nights and weekends as most client events occur at those times
Qualifications:
Proven sales experience required in the hospitality industry as Sales/Catering/Event Manager at a hotel, event venue or at a fine dining restaurant's private events group.
