Patient Service Representative

Our fast-paced, 4 provider private practice is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative (PSR) who will provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere to our environment and who will strive to provide outstanding service to our patients. This position has the potential to develop into an administrative lead role, including project management.
Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting patients upon arrival
- Verifying and updating patient information to ensure proper billing
- Obtaining appropriate patient consents if necessary
- Scheduling appointments
- Verifying insurance and ensuring necessary information and insurance card copies are in the EMR system
- Managing patient messages and calls
- Collecting co-pays, and patient balances
- Confirming patient appointments
- Handling of medical records requests
- Follow-through with referral management (verifying insurance, contacting patient, obtaining necessary records from referring provider)
- Secondary monitoring of patient waiting area
Clinic hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am– 5:00pm. (Varied schedules.)

Requirements - Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED and 1 year of medical office experience
- Exceptional customer/patient service/interpersonal skills
- Self-motivation, empathy, and ability to multi-task
- Clear and effective communication in a positive manner; attention to detail, spelling and grammar
- Dedication to great attendance and punctuality
- Knowledge of computer and phone systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in healthcare setting or medical office
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)- E-Clinical Works Preferred.
Starting Wage: $25 per hour
