Position Summary:
Support Category Manager(s) in achieving category sales, units, profit dollars, and growth objectives. Support category strategy and execution (e.g., assist in the development of sales / promotional plans). Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- Exposure to Kroger Category Management System Data Warehouse, Business Objects, Enterprise Sales Planning (ESP), and dunnhumby
- Division store management experience
- Replenishment buying
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- 2 years experience in one of the following areas: replenishment buying/procurement, merchandising, store co-management, operations, or brand management
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
- Strong organization and multi-tasking skills
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to travel independently
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with assortment (including item setup & maintenance), pricing strategy and planogramming (if applicable).
- Assist with forecasting and achieving weekly and period category sales goals, profit dollars, growth objectives, EBITDA, Household and loyalty development and share of market in assigned categories.
- Provide support to the Category Manager for proofing ads, versions and collateral, as needed.
- Support review of sales and promotional performance by Division.
- Assist with division-specific Enterprise Sales Planning (ESP).
- Assist with category and competitor research.
- Assist with Division, supplier, vendor, and other relationships / communications.
- Assist with reaching Corporate Brand sales and share goals (as assigned).
- Facilitate display planning, communicate plans to divisions, and monitor compliance.
- Support special projects as needed.
- Create and maintain reports (daily, monthly and quarterly).
