Radio Access Network Engineer, Zenisco Inc., based in Auburn, Washington: The Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineer will be responsible for comprehensive configuration, integration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of telecommunications networks (including Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) technology) for the modernization and extension of mobile networks with a focus on technology transfer and transport networks. The position will design, configure, implement, monitor, and maintain end-to-end cellular technology and radio networks. Specific duties include the following (other duties may be assigned): A. Installation, Commission, integration of Radio Base Station (RBS) and Flexi Base Station; B. Troubleshoot and maintain safe operation, alarm interpretation and removal for 5G+, 5G, Long-Term Evolution (LTE), Advanced Wireless Services (AWS), Personal Communications Services (PCS) and Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM) equipment, as well as Node B and Evolved Node B (eNodeB); C. Troubleshoot base station software and hardware using Nokia Manager and or RBS Element Manager; D. Node B, Sync troubleshooting loop check for TX/IP from Node B to Radio Network Controller (RNC); E. Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Nokia and Ericsson Radio Base Station (RBS) equipment and Radio Network Controller (RNC) equipment. F. Utilize radio signaling, radio network equipment, and Operations Support Systems (OSS) tools to monitor, analyze and manage telecommunication networks; G. Analyze, update firmware, troubleshoot, and program Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) configuration for Argus, Kathrein, Andrew, and CommScope Antennas; H. Analyze, troubleshoot, and program Remote Electrical Tilt (RET) configuration of Communications Control Unit (CCU); I. Tower Mounted Amplifier (TMA) installation, removal and troubleshoot for Kaelus and other brands; J. Test and measure wireless cell site quality using Passive Intermodulation (PIM), Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR), Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) for coaxial and fibers; K. Troubleshoot Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) issues;
L. Script creation, loading and troubleshooting in Node B (through Operations & Maintenance (O&M) such as network monitoring, fault management, configuration management, performance management, security management, software and hardware maintenance, and customer support); M. Carrier Addition 3C, 4C, 5C, including installation, integration, commission, troubleshoot; N. License key and software upgrade on site execution for Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA), Long-Term Evolution (LTE), 5G and 5G+; O. Site Integration using Nokia BTS Manager and/or Moshell (aka Mobile Switching Center (MSC) Operation and Maintenance); P. Perform Radio Remote Unit (RRU) replacement and addition; Q. Onsite or remote troubleshooting for configuration or hardware issues associated with 5G+, 5G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) Nodes (Radio Base Station (RBS)); R. Test and troubleshoot Radio Access Network (RAN) equipment; S. Verify traces, system parameters and Long-Term Evolution (LTE) black module; T. Radio network parameter change impact analysis (cell status, alarm, and Crash impact); U. Define and declare neighboring cells Inter Radio Access Technology (IRAT), UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN), Evolved UTRAN (E-UTRAN); V. Analyze traces and exceptions for worst cell troubleshooting; W. Measure, analyze and monitor LTE and WCDMA key performance indicators (KPI), daily monitoring radio performance and RAN parameter; and X. Provide consultation and support to customers on technical issues related to 5G+, 5G, Long-Term Evolution (LTE), Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA), and Radio Access Network (RAN) products.
Domestic travel to client sites may be required approximately 10-20% of time (such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile client sites). The minimum requirements for the position are a bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field, plus 2 years of experience in each of the following: A. Configuration, integration and troubleshooting of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) technology; B. LTE and WCDMA key performance indicator (KPI) monitoring; C. Implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Nokia and Ericsson Radio Base Station (RBS) equipment; D. Implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Nokia and Ericsson Radio Network Controller (RNC) equipment; and E. Utilizing radio signaling, radio network equipment, and Operations Support Systems (OSS) tools to monitor, analyze and manage telecommunication networks. Domestic travel to client sites may be required approximately 10-20% of time. All experience may be gained concurrently.
Salary range is $89,086/year-$89,086/year for full-time employment.
