Job Summary
Will assist with activities such as medical administration, performing minor first aid to clients, maintenance of medical records, collection of vital statistic data, i.e., height and weight; documentation of assessments and treatment.
This shift will be from 2p-10p.
Essential Job Duties
- Medical Administration
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician order and nursing delegatory standards.
- First Aid Perform client assessments and treatments for minor illnesses and injuries.
- Document all assessments and treatments performed.
- Communicate with nursing staff any assessments, treatments, findings on a daily basis.
- Clerical duties
- Assist nursing staff in verifying and inventorying prescriptions as they are delivered.
- Measure and record vital statistical data as required to include, but not limited to, height, weight, intake/output, and vital signs.
- Work independently when nursing staff is not in the clinic. However, consult with nursing staff via telecommunication for questions or any non- routine occurrences.
- Act as clinic contact in regards to reinforcement of health care teaching planned or provided by the RN.
- Make visits to client’s individual home for evening medication pass or as requested.
Qualifications, Education, Experience
High School Graduate or equivalent. Six months of related experience. Experience working with children or the developmentally disabled preferred. Medication Aid certification preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, Registrations
Note: Training on medication administration specific to our client population will be provided to complete medical provider responsibilities. Training includes passing, with a score of 80%, a written exam, and passing a practical exam, with a score of 100%. Medical Assistant preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $11.74 - $12.50 per hour
