Title: Automotive Certified Technician / Mechanic
We are looking for an experienced Full Line Automotive Technician to join our team! Kia certification is preferred(but not necessary for right person), any Kia experience is ideal.
The Automotive Service Technician is responsible for swiftly and accurately performing automotive repairs including engine management systems, fuel management systems, transmission, electrical alignment, steering, suspension, brakes, etc.
Automotive Technician / Mechanic Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, alignment, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Perform vehicle inspections
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
- Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Automotive Technician / Mechanic Qualifications
- 6+ years automotive repair experience in a professional dealership setting
- Must have a set of tools
- Kia certification/experience
- ASE certifications are a plus
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license
- Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies
We are seeking a skilled, motivated Level A or B Automotive Technician. We have been in business for nearly 65 years.
Job Requirements of the Automotive Technician/Mechanic (Level A or B):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4-5 years experience minimum
- Valid Driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must have your own tools
- Team oriented, flexible, focused on maintaining a high level of customer service

Job Responsibilities of the Automotive Technician/Mechanic (Level A or B)
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
- Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
- Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
- Examine the vehicle to determine if any additional safety or service work is needed
- Advise service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
- Document work performed and recommended on the repair order. Upon completion of work return repair order to the Service Advisor.
- Road test customer vehicles
- Ensure that customers’ cars are kept clean, undamaged, and without changes to the comfort, convenience systems or audio system settings. Notifies service advisor and/or service manager immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Attend factory-sponsored training classes
- Keep shop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership owned tools at all times
- Adhere to all attendance, punctuality, and timekeeping standards
- Must have inspection, admission or both

Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
