Title: Security Officer
Location: One Charles, Boston, MA
Job Summary:
The primary focus for the Security Officer is to maintain a safe and secure environment through visibility and technological resources. The Security Officer is also responsible for protecting and serving the residential units and applicable common area elements.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
- Maintain the highest safety and security standards for the property, residents, and guests and protect the property by immediately addressing and resolving all issues
- Monitor entrances and exits to ensure property remains secure and perform inspections to ensure life safety initiatives are in compliance.
- Report any suspicious activities to the Security Operations Center
- Respond and assist with resident lock-outs, accidents, and emergencies
- Conduct patrols of designated areas as scheduled, with goal of 100% effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with all contractor and vendor procedures for entering the building and utilizing the badge system and assist with employee I.D. program
- Receive and arrange distribution of newspapers to residents. Coordinate deliveries and log all incoming packages
- Provide escorts to food delivery personnel as directed
- Enforce security property pass policies for the removal of items from the building
- Operate the service elevator as required
- Maintain detailed logs of receiving reports, department equipment, systems, and other information
- Procure supplies, materials, and vendor service provisions following standard procedures
- Provide shift coverage to maintain minimum acceptable staffing as needed
- Participate and contribute to training programs
- Utilize utmost discretion for residents to ensure their privacy
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Understand and operate all life-safety and security-based systems utilized within security operations
- Professional demeanor with demonstrated experience in the security industry
- Exemplary customer service skills
- Knowledge of A.D.A. standards and blood-borne pathogens precautions
- Able to think quickly and use good judgment by identifying and resolving security risks and safety hazards including fire, medical and police issues
- Must work well under pressure and remain calm in all circumstances, prioritize, and follow thru
- Able to respond to and patrol and climb stairs in normal and emergencies
- Able to maintain positive relations with local law enforcement agencies
- A teamwork demeanor and ability to perform tasks and duties with minimal supervision
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Able to pass a drug test
