Responsibilities:
- Lead communication with clients for the design and development of steering components.
- Design and develop key sub-systems related to steering mechanisms.
- Develop functional specifications for sub-systems.
- Ensure design meets durability, packaging, and performance requirements.
- Create detailed component prints and specify appropriate manufacturing processes.
- Conduct sizing calculations for components based on technical specifications.
- Review component performance post-testing and collaborate with suppliers for evaluation.
- Conduct risk assessments (DRBFM and DFMEA) for associated components.
- Optimize design for cost-effectiveness and robustness.
- Develop and execute validation tests to assess design reliability.
- Manage design changes and support additional applications.
- Assist in supplier selection and coordinate prototyping activities.
- Track development progress and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Support new business pursuits by reviewing specifications and providing technical input.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Design, Development, or CAE.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, preferably within the automotive domain.
- Familiarity with vehicle steering systems and chassis components.
- Proficiency in CATIA v5 is desirable.
- Experience with product development processes.
- Knowledge of chassis sub-systems and components.
