The Director of Operations position will assist in the development and leadership of all facets of the Transportation and Warehouse departments for Julius Silvert, a specialty food wholesale distribution company. The candidate must be detail-oriented, systematic, well-organized, polished, and a high-energy team player.
Responsibilities:
- Run reports, gather data, and prepare analysis daily.
- Hire, supervise, schedule, and train personnel.
- Build a strong warehouse team through training and performance.
- Support operation leadership in implementing new processes, technologies, and systems.
- Reduce shrinkage by managing inventory through control processes.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations along with following proper guidelines set forth by OSHA, USDA, and other monitoring agencies.
- Motivate self and others to accomplish important objectives despite multiple demands, create a sense of urgency, and delegate appropriately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Logistics, Supply chain, or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of previous management experience, preferably in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution center environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and strong attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Suite and other software programs
- Analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Provide Supervisors and staff with meaningful developmental opportunities through effective coaching and feedback.
- Promote positive team morale through effective communication and recognition.
