Are you passionate about healthy food and nutrition for young children? The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development is looking for an energetic team player to implement and coordinate the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) in this region. The Child and Adult Care Food Program Specialist is responsible for administering the federal program which provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children who are enrolled at participating family child care homes. The Food Program Specialist supports childcare providers with orientation, regulatory compliance, and monthly billing.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct all activities related to monitoring functions of the child care homes participating in CACFP
- Process monthly claims for reimbursements to providers
- Review all enrollment data for accuracy and completeness
- Complete and submit annual CACFP re-certification applications
- Provide limited on-site program monitoring, training and technical assistance for CACFP providers (includes approx 2 hours of travel time to participating program and 2-3 hours of an onsite review time per week).
- Monitor program budget
- Oversee the CACFP review and audit and provide information as required
Bachelors degree and two years experience in nutrition, early childhood education, or related field preferred.
