SUMMARY
The Yarn Rewinding Machine Operator (YRMO) is responsible for the labor processes of rewinding different types of yarns (leftover material) using a yarn rewinding machine (henceforth “rewinder”). The YRMO will prepare materials using a rewinder, and stage the materials in the appropriate area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following:
- Operates rewinder in accordance with IAL and QMS work instructions and industry safe practices.
- Ensures high winding and splicing quality of the yarns.
- Stage material for upcoming rewinding via the production schedule and sheets.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on the rewinder per IAL maintenance program guidelines and industry safe practices.
- Assist staging rewound material for upcoming cables, including all subsequent cleaning activities.
- Assist with loading ADSS line servers following production sheets and Lead Extrusion Line Operator.
- Complete production forms and reports accurately; communicates effectively with management and incoming shift.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.
- Operate a forklift as needed to assist with staging materials.
- Other duties as assigned by the Line Supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED, with 2 years’ experience in manufacturing experience preferred.
- Basic mathematic competencies; addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
