We are looking for a Furniture Mover and Warehouse Assistant. This position will primarily be responsible for the following duties:
- Moving merchandise into vignettes under the supervision of the Merchandising Assistant and Warehouse Manager(Inventory can be extremely heavy).
- Driving a small box truck to and from the warehouse. As well as to and from vendors, and occasionally to client destinations. ***A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION***
- Maintenance of the exterior of the showroom, ranging from mild landscaping, leaf removal, watering as needed, painting as needed, and disposal of trash.
- Maintenance of the interior of the showroom, checking for price tags, straightening pillows, assessing if items need repair, running the dishwasher at the end of every day, and emptying trash bins.
- Furniture repairs and touch-ups for sold merchandise and inventory for the showroom floor, wood refinishing, assembly of furniture, etc.
- Miscellaneous tasks related to the flow of merchandise in and out of the showroom.
Our ideal candidate must possess and demonstrate the following critical success behaviors:
- Experience in the furniture industry or luxury retail is strongly preferred.
- Ability to make repairs to furniture, painting, refinishing, etc.
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
- Communication skills, active listener, problem solver.
- Strong ability to adjust and multitask.
- A team player who can lead when needed.
- Good visual thinker, naturally aware of style, observant.
- Job is physical in nature and will require the applicant to stand, lift, bend, reach, and manipulate.
