Position: Chief Mechanical Engineer
Qualifications:
· Demonstrated expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems design
· Proven track record of success in team environments
· Excellent communication skills
· Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan
· 15-20+ years of experience in facility mechanical engineering design
· Proficiency in CSI specifications writing
· Ability to perform heat loss and gain calculations as well as Fire Protection calculations
· Skilled in multitasking and working under tight deadlines
· Comfortable in a small firm environment
· Extensive technical expertise across various sectors
· Experience in Construction Administration phase including site visits and RFI responses
· Proficiency in Revit, AutoDesk BIM 360, AutoDesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BlueBeam, Adobe, and Microsoft Office
· Familiarity with construction file management systems like Procore
· Knowledge of Building Codes, NFPA, and ASHRAE Standards
· Familiarity with TRANE TRACE, E-QUEST software desirable
Responsibilities:
· Develop approach to mechanical systems design scope and execution
· Lead as Chief project engineer on all projects
· Delegate portions of mechanical design as needed
· Conduct QA/QC sessions using blue bean or other industry software
· Perform site visits per client request
· Participate in proposal interviews when necessary
