Mott MacDonald is seeking an engineering professional with junior to mid-level experience to join our team to support an on-call contract with the Port of Portland. We are eager to recruit a candidate who can achieve results in the following tasks and fulfill client and project requirements, as needed.
- Performing electrical engineering tasks across all electrical disciplines.
- Perform work in an on-site role at the Port of Portland.
- Development of the following:
- Design criteria packages
- Power distribution plans
- Arc flash studies
- Electrical equipment sizing
- Grounding plans
- Lighting plans
- Control system network architecture plans
- PLC control drawing, instrument selection, and loop drawings.
- Engineering field data collection.
- Engineering construction support.
- Engineering quality control reviews.
- Customer interface and the ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.
We invite applications from candidates with the following experience:
- Education: BSEE from an ABET accredited university.
- Professional Registration: PE is desired – ability to obtain within 2 years.
- Required Technical Experience: Low (Under 600 Volts) Voltage Power Distribution Design (Medium Voltage – Over 600 volts and less than 30 KV is a plus); Building, Area, and Roadway Lighting Design; Grounding; Load Study; Load Flow, Breaker Coordination, and Arc Flash Studies; PLC Based Instrumentation and Control System Design; Fiber Optic Cabling Designs; Networking; NEC Code Analysis; Electrical Construction Inspection; Electrical and Instrumentation Construction Cost Estimating; Ability to develop an electrical scope of work and list of deliverables.
- Preferred (Plus) Abilities: Lighting Protection System Designs; Security; and CCTV system design.
- Required Code and Standard Knowledge: NEC, IESNA, NFPA 70E, IEEE Color Book Series, API, AGA.
- Required Software Capabilities: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SKM or ETAP, Computer Based Lighting Software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- 3-5 years’ experience preferred.
- Other Requirements:
- Travel: None required.
- Customer Interface: Ability to serve as a Project Electrical Engineering lead on electrical engineering projects.
- Supervision: None required.
