Children support services at Anchor Health is a government funded program which provides support and resources for children with mental, emotional and social health challenges. We are looking for compassionate and dependable individuals who love working with children to join our team of dedicated Direct Support Professionals. DSPs will be sent potential cases that might be a good fit for them, and be able to accept or decline, on a case-by-case basis, based on information about the child's needs, the location and the hours. This job gives you flexibility and control over your own schedule; you determine how many hours you work, which hours, and where. The best part of this program is that the government covers the costs, so these families are receiving these much-needed services for free, which means you get to help people while making money. We will work with you to get a better sense of what types of cases would be a good fit for your skillset, location, and schedule, and begin to send you potential cases which you can accept or decline. In every case, DSPs will work with the children on goals set by clinicians pertaining to their mental, social, and emotional health, and report back on goal progress. Some examples of common goals include working on emotional regulation, working on social skills, working on maintaining a routine, and more. Some cases can also involve components including parent-coaching, music therapy, art therapy, teaching the child activities of daily living and/or taking the child out into the community. If you have a specialty such as art or music, inquire about our after school program opportunities!
Starts at $23 an hour with room for more based on experience, qualifications and specialty
Most cases are between 5 and 20 hours. If you want to work more hours we can give you multiple cases. Most cases are after school hours. In some cases we have weekends available. In some cases, where the child is before or after school age, we have mornings available, but afternoons are most common.
