Reporting to the Chair of the MFA Program, the Program Manager performs a variety of administrative support with minimal supervision for a department that includes 4+ FT Faculty, 13+ Adjuncts and 90+ majors. The Program Manager interacts with the Dean’s Office, Academic Scheduling, Admissions, Alumni Relations, other University offices, as well as the Actors Studio while performing a variety of administrative duties and projects for Chairperson/Department.
Position Duties

Provides administrative support to the Chair of the program and other faculty.

Advises students on registration process.

Arranges appointments and performs other daily scheduling responsibilities for the Chair. Serves as liaison between the Chair, faculty, students, and other program administrators.

Works with Chair to monitor departmental supplies and services budget.

Maintains the program’s archives.

Maintains faculty and student files, records and documentation.

Coordinates academic scheduling with the Chair, which includes but is not limited to entering faculty assignments and processing any temporary stipends as appropriate.

Maintains office records of syllabi, exams, faculty data and other business communications.

Works with the Graduate Admissions Office on recruitment events.

Assists Chair on a variety of projects/events such as welcoming the new class each year.

Performs other such duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required; MFA degree preferred.

Excellent computer skills and knowledge of/experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Facility with learning new systems such as Banner and e-Procurement.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to be discreet and diplomatic.

Ability to multi-task and stay calm under pressure.
Work Hours
Monday through Friday, 9AM to 5PM; additional hours as needed during the academic year, including some weekends for recruitment events.
