Description:
American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Human Resources Manager for our Sycamore, OH location. This position will report to the Director of Human Resources.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment for direct labor positions
- Conduct interviews, process background checks, employment authorizations and conduct new hire orientation
- Process weekly timekeeping and maintain attendance calendars
- Research and investigate employee issues or concerns, consults with management, and coordinate necessary action to bring appropriate resolution
- Review disciplinary action and termination documents, taking appropriate partners as necessary
- Maintain active and terminated personnel files
- Assist in Bureau of Workers Compensation Cases
- Provide support between employee and operations to approve weekly timesheets
- Coordinate and distribute reporting on labor and hiring to Management
- Other duties as assigned by Management
Requirements:
- 2-3 years’ Human Resources generalist role in a company with 150+ employees
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent and relevant work experience will substitute
- 3 years working in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to multitask and self-motivation
- Excellent oral & written communications skills
- Fully computer literate including MS Office Suites, ATS experience and the ability to learn Paylocity within the first 30 days
- Professional attitude & demeanor with Management and employees
- Resourceful with ability to apply critical problem-solving skills
- Extremely detailed & organized
- Demonstrated knowledge of all office machines including copier/scanner, multi-line phone systems
