**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Administrative and Event Assistant to support our team in organizing and executing various programs and events for the Washington Council of Police & Sheriffs, a nonprofit trade association in Olympia. The ideal candidate will assist in office related tasks to include data entry and reception duties, and assist with all event related tasks. The selected candidate will have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and vehicle insurance. The position will be full time and in the WACOPS office in Olympia. The chosen candidate will be required to work in the office daily.
**Responsibilities:**
- Provide office administrative support such as data entry, reception duties, taking and transcribing notes, providing member support, and maintaining records
- Assist Executive Director with work related to various programs and committees
- Interact with members, clients, and vendors to ensure excellent customer service
- Assist in planning and executing events from start to finish to include scheduling, venue selection, catering contracting, speaker/presenter selection, and other related tasks
- Assisting in the coordination of event logistics, including packing and transporting of event equipment, set up and tear down, attendee related documents, and other related tasks
-In State travel as necessary
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to attend work related events overnight away from Olympia several times each year.
- Assist in marketing and promoting events through various channels

**Skills:**
- Proficient in the Microsoft Suite of software products, in particular WORD and at least a basic level of experience in Excel.
- Proficient in data entry

- Previous experience working in an office environment required
- Previous event experience is a plus
