Overview
The Senior Maintenance Worker performs a variety of skilled difficult or complex maintenance tasks in field and ground maintenance for the City; performs asphalt/paving repair and marking, climate control operation, parking meter repair, bench repair, and collection, traffic signs and marking, water system preventative maintenance and repair, and water meter testing and repair.
Essential Functions
1 Operates and uses a variety of motorized equipment and hand tools to perform maintenance and general care for facilities, utilities, industrial buildings, and other City spaces; identifies maintenance issues, facilitates repair, and ensures the appropriate assignment of tasks for completion.
2 Provides skilled operation and maintenance of municipal building climate control equipment by monitoring the
operating condition of large, heating, complex, cooling and ventilation systems.
3 Counts daily collection of parking meter revenues and makes difficult repairs on parking meters when requested by other parking meter repairers.
4 Tests, repairs, changes and maintains large industrial, commercial, and customer city water meters by performing
preventative maintenance.
5 Performs as lead worker to a small crew by assigning tasks, setting pace of work, and training in the visual inspection of pumping facility equipment including oil levels, valve position, switch gear instruments, and pump drains.
6 Prepares simple records regarding gas usage and time worked to provide immediate supervisor with adequate
records.
7 Cleans, checks, and performs minor repairs on equipment and tools to ensure it is maintained in operational condition.
8 Performs any and all other work as required or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
1 Knowledge of equipment and tools used in maintenance.
2 Maintaining and operating hand and power tools.
3 Knowledge of maintenance skills for various electrical and mechanical applications across the City infrastructure.
4 Knowledge and understanding of safety procedures
5 Ability to train and instruct other laborers and workers.
6 Ability to read and write.
7 Ability to perform a wide range of physical labor.

$43,309.58 - $48,201.45
