Glanbia Performance Nutrition - Transportation Specialist
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Transportation Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in managing our day-to-day transportation operations, coordinating with vendors, 3PLs, and internal departments to ensure the smooth flow of shipments. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Ensure vendors follow agreed processes, identify issues, and make recommendations for improvements. Assist in coordinating with various departments to prepare freight claims for shortages and damages. Track KPIs and run monthly reports. Provide freight estimates for requests from various departments. Coordinate with Customer Service, Supply Planning, and 3PL Planners to resolve shipment and delivery problems. Assist in creating and maintaining updated procedural documents to support Product Supply with proper transportation-related best practices. Work with Transportation Analyst and 3PL providers to generate Carrier Performance KPI reports. Manage small projects and ad hoc reporting as needed. Deliver open action items to closure related to strategic projects as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications : Associate or Bachelor‘s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related discipline preferred. Minimum of 3 years of previous transportation/logistics experience required. Experience working in warehousing and/or manufacturing environment preferred. Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of management. Knowledge and experience with using SAP. Proficiency in MS Word, Power Point, and Excel (creating reports, formulas, and pivot tables). Must be a self-motivated individual who works well both independently and in teams. Proven experience in transportation coordination, logistics, or related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in transportation management systems (TMS) and other related software applications. Familiarity with transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
