Position: Chief Financial Officer

POSITION:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for all financial matters of CASA of the Seventh Judicial District, Inc. The CFO will report to and work closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). In addition, they will partner with the senior leadership and the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategies across the organization. The CFO will oversee all compliance and recognition for government (federal and state) contracts/grants and private grants. The CFO will carry out the mission of CASA of the 7th Judicial District by overseeing all financial aspects of managing the non-profit and supporting all programming through grant writing/reporting.
STATUS: Full-time, exempt
MAJOR DUTIES:
· Become familiar with all programs in order to assist where needed, when needed.
· Perform all duties of grant management from researching appropriate grants, to grant writing, and financial management of all grants, including billing, corrections, follow up of cash receipts, grant compliance and grant reporting.
· Responsible for QuickBooks data entry including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, banking, Adjusting Journal Entries, and account reconciliations.
· Responsible for managing payroll, payroll files, and all related reports and tax payments, including year-end W-2 and W-3 reporting.
· Oversee preparation of annual 1099 / 1096 forms.
· Primary contact with banks, requesting new credit cards and closing old cards.
· Ensure all registrations are current: SOS, CO Gives, SAM, DUN, etc.
· Prepare annual budget and monitor monthly expenditures.
· Prepare financial reports for monthly board meetings; meet monthly with the Finance Committee.
· Work directly with auditors, including grant auditors, to ensure all documentation for annual audit is prepared and is accurate.
· Purchase equipment and supplies with Executive Director’s prior approval.
· Manage the archiving of current as well as previous fiscal years’ files, including grant files.
· Organize and maintain phones, financial files, supplies, computers, storage and meeting rooms.
· Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Directly supervises part-time accountant and all accounting function performed at remote sites.
· Train all staff members as to appropriate purchases and coding to appropriate funding streams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
● A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; and 5 years of leadership experience that includes budget oversight, personnel management, community involvement, and collaboration is required. A Master’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
● Proven experience managing and supervising, preferably in a nonprofit environment (at least two years).
● Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
● Strong experience in non-profit, grant accounting, cost accounting, or governmental accounting.
● Strong experience with program evaluation, data management, and outcome reporting. Strong data input, management, analysis and reporting skills.
● Experience working directly with a Board of Directors.
● Adaptability, creative approach to problem-solving, and desire to help achieve aggressive goals.
● Organized with effective time management skills. Ability to plan and to meet deadlines, respond to inquiries quickly and efficiently and balance multiple tasks.
● Ability to develop and drive new ideas, leader for creative and effective development of programs.
● Excellent computer skills.
● Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to build positive relationships with a wide variety of individuals and organizations.
● Ability to positively represent the organization in meetings with community stakeholders.
● Bilingual highly desirable.
COMPENSATION:
Commensurate with experience and abilities. Benefits package offered.
Salary Range: $60,000-$85,000

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
