What to expect:
This is an ongoing Quality Mechanical Inspector position, part-time 2 -3 days a week on first shift. You will be part of a global inspection team assuring the quality of components and assemblies that this global aerospace leader is sourcing from one or more suppliers in this area. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQA’s operations center based on client need and each supplier’s production schedule.
What you’ll do
You will be conducting mechanical-focused inspections at one or more suppliers primarily in the New England region.
Ability to detect defects on highly complex products.
Verify documentation packages to industry/commodity-specific standards, classify defect types.
Verify rework conducted during the time of the inspection.
Read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards.
Validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, indicators, calipers, height gages).
What you’ll need:
4+ years' experience in related or relevant field.
Ability to use technology and adapt to new software.
Experience with mechanical inspections.
Experience with GD&T (Geometric, Dimensioning, and Tolerance)
.Experience with COFC's (Certification of Conformances).
Experience with drawings and blueprint reading.
Due to the nature of the products, US Citizenship is also a requirement and background checks are required.
