JOB DESCRIPTION
Barker Pacific Group, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant who has real estate accounting experience for its portfolio of class “A” commercial properties. The property accountant will report to the controller and is responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing accurate and timely financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and exhibit a high level of professionalism in appearance, work product and judgment.
*Please note this position requires the employee to be onsite in our DTLA office. This is not a remote position.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Your Experience - A minimum of three (3) years of commercial real estate accounting experience. A college degree in related field is preferred.
- Software Knowledge – Proficient with Voyager. A strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Communication – Strong written and verbal ability to communicate effectively to managers, vendors, and interdepartmental to convey team goals. Effective ability to present information and respond to questions presented by leaders, clients, and the public.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
· Assist with all aspects of accounting: accounts payable, accounts receivable, monthly accruals, and monthly financial statements with all supporting schedules for multiple properties.
· Reconcile cash, payables, receivables, prepaid rent, security deposit balances and other control accounts.
· Calculate the monthly property management fees and construction fees.
· Set up and maintain tenants’ lease information, including start and termination dates, monthly rent amounts, and recovery details. Post commercial tenants’ rent payments, and email statements to tenants.
· Processes invoices through Yardi.
· Provide information for acquisition and disposition of assets. This includes revenue and expense prorations, calculation of prepaid rents and security deposits. Post opening and closing statements when properties are bought or sold.
· Provide draft monthly cashflow forecasts for management review.
· Calculate the annual common area maintenance (CAM) true ups in Yardi Recoveries, and update information in tenants’ ledgers.
· Prepare complete package for external tax preparer for the annual Federal and State tax filing for multiple properties.
· Set up new vendor 1099 tax information in vendor ledger and assist in preparing annual 1099s.
· File any annual business licenses, personal property tax and file and pay sales tax if required.
· Other miscellaneous general accounting duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
