REPORTS TO: Senior Accountant
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday (9:00am-5:00pm)

SALARY RANGE: $45,000 - $50,000 Annually

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this position will be responsible for performing all tasks of the Finance department by performing day-to-day and month-to-month accounting functions.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable aging to the general ledger.

Monitor, analyze and reconcile prepaid expenses, miscellaneous receivables, accruals and other balance sheet accounts.

Prepare and post journal entries as needed.

Assist in monthly closing, annual budgets, audits, system implementations.
-
Receive and record customer payments via check or electronic check.
-
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or accounts.
-
Reconcile monthly credit card transactions.
-
Process accounts payable invoices and employee reimbursements.
-
Assist the Senior Accountant in accurate preparation of general and specialized projects, reports and audits.

Prepare payroll benefit allocations
-
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.

2 years of experience in accounting or a related field is preferred.

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Ability to read and analyze financial reports

Strong understanding of US GAAP and regulations

Must have experience and skills with QuickBooks Online and/or MIP Fund Accounting

Experience preparing journal entries and monthly closing process.

Must have experience and skills with MS Excel

Nonprofit accounting experience is desirable but not necessary

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary- up to 15-20 pounds at times.

Mandated Reporting Requirements: The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 Revised July 21, 2017 as a condition of employment.

If eligible for a booster shot, proof of booster is also required. If not fully vaccinated, weekly COVID-19 testing is necessary depending on the program. Driver Positions:
Applicants are required to provide a copy of their driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles, along with a copy of their valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Job offers are contingent upon a satisfactory driving record. Examples of an unsatisfactory driving record include:

Three or more moving violations in the past 36 months

Any violations, including drugs, alcohol, controlled substances, within the past 24 months
