Summary
We are looking for a responsible Custodian to maintain our facility. The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have good physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Clean tables, counter tops and microwaves in cafeteria.
· Vacuum carpet and scrub and mop floors.
· Empty garbage containers.
· Replace lightbulbs.
· Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, shower stalls and walls and restock disposables (e.g. soap, toilet paper and towels).
· Wipe mirrors and wash windows.
· Clean and wax desks.
· Shovel snow and spread salt on sidewalks. Sweep sidewalks.
· Operate custodial machines (floor scrubber, sweeper, trash compactor).
· Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces.
Requirements
· Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.
· Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
· Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components.
· Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
· High school diploma is preferred but not required.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to; use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk. Should be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds as needed. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
The employee works indoors in a production environment. Additionally, the incumbent will work near moving mechanical parts. He/she may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. There is frequent noise in the work environment.
