Job Summary
The Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA) mission is to promote and protect the industry’s license to operate. Currently CLIA has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Events and Marketing on the Membership and Commercial Team. Under the direction of the Sr. Advisor for Events and Sponsorships, work with Membership & Commercial, Strategic Communications and Marketing team, and other relevant stakeholders to support and manage all membership communications and marketing efforts and events with emphasis on events in the Americas.
The ideal candidate is dynamic and derives energy from working in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects under competing deadlines. The incumbent embodies an impeccable sense of professionalism with all levels of staff and is a self-starter who is not afraid of ambiguity and is willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
Essential Job Functions

Manage the communications and marketing for events.

Develop and manage event content agendas.

Curate event content in collaboration with subject matter experts.

Recruit and manage speakers by coordinating and maintaining schedules and communication to speakers.

Serve as the day to day manager on all large and small events, in the Americas including virtual, live and hybrid (live + virtual) events, small member receptions, C-level events, and forums.

Manage the sponsorship relationships, ensure customer satisfaction, and measure ROI for all America events and other marketing programs.

Requirements:
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field

6+ years of job-related experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

6 + years of event and/or marketing within an association or similar organization

Exceptional writing and editing skills

Web content development experience

Proven event management experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Work Environment

This position is based in our DC office as part of a hybrid work environment.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
Required Travel
Physical Requirements
