EdFarm | PROPEL Overview
EdFarm was launched in February 2020 in Birmingham, AL to create a suite of signature programs designed to engage students, educators, and adult learners in innovative digital skills experiences that better prepare them for the 21st-century workforce. In February 2021, EdFarm, in partnership with Apple and Southern, announced plans to launch the Propel Center, a physical and virtual hub based in Atlanta, GA that will partner with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to provide powerful learning experiences for HBCU students and staff and increase the pool of HBCU graduates entering and leading the innovation economy.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Learning and Innovation Officer, the Program Coordinator will provide direct administrative and program support to the Learning Innovation and Design team. This role entails the creation and maintenance of critical documents, presentations, and reports, which are essential for effective communication and organization within the department. The Program Coordinator will manage and execute small projects and tasks, demonstrating leadership and a proactive approach in every aspect of their work. Responsibilities also include managing the Chief's calendar, coordinating travel arrangements, preparing meeting agendas and minutes, conducting research, maintaining confidential records, screening phone calls and emails, and processing expense reports. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will provide general administrative support, liaise with other departments and external partners, and act as a liaison between the Chief, staff, faculty, and students. The role requires discretion, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to assist with special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve as a project manager and coordinator for various initiatives, ensuring timely execution and success.
Construct slides, documents, and reports for the Chief Learning and Innovation Officer and their team.
Utilize experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to maintain and manage relationships effectively.
Act autonomously as a self-starter, taking initiative in a dynamic environment.
Manage the Chief's calendar, coordinate travel arrangements, and organize meetings including venue bookings and technology setups.
Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information.
Liaise with other departments and external partners, ensuring robust communication and collaboration.
Manage and lead small projects from inception to completion, including budget management and resource allocation.
Provide general administrative support including processing expense reports, maintaining records, and handling correspondence.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a project manager or coordinator with a strong record of successful program delivery.
Extensive experience creating and managing documents, slides, and reports.
Experience working with CRM systems and a strong understanding of data management.
Excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills; meticulous attention to detail.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communication, or a related field preferred.
Ability to work independently and autonomously, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Prior experience in administrative roles, particularly in a learning or innovative context, is a plus.
Measurable Goals/Outcomes:
Successfully coordinate and organize 1 - 2 convenings for the learning innovation and design team stakeholders
Increase efficiency in document and data management systems by 25% within the first year.
Complete and lead 3 special programs per year, achieving program objectives and maintaining budget constraints.
