SUMMARY:
The driver provides transportation for residents to and from Doctors’ appointments, shopping trips, activities, and other various outings. Provides support to marketing and other departments as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (note: Other duties may be assigned).

Drives residents to and from all doctors’ appointments

Drives bus for all resident outings.

Picks up residents’ prescriptions at area drug stores.

Runs errands for marketing as well as other management Departments.

Responsible for upkeep on cars and bus.

Responsible for the delivery of packages to residents apartments.

Daily reporting to Director of Activity on trips taken for charges to A/R.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBLITIES: N/A
QUALIFICATIONS:
To succeed in this position, an individual must be capable of operating with very little supervision. They must be able to know the area and map out the best route for each appointment within a set time frame. They must be flexible and able to adjust to delays of residents and/or doctors’ offices.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Experience helpful, but not necessary (prefer CDL). Must have a good clean driving record. Some common knowledge of auto maintenance is necessary.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must speak fluent English
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must be able to keep track of mileage on automobiles
REASONING ABILITY:
Have good reasoning ability to schedule time accordingly.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Have a current driver’s license in good standing and a good driving record.
Have a CDL license with a passenger endorsement.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Be able to deal with stressful situations with a busy schedule. Be able to help residents in and out of wheelchairs and into vehicle. Be able to lift wheel-chairs and/or walkers into trunk of car.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Basically, work on their own with little supervision. They must be able to set their schedule to accommodate any unexpected emergency.
