Summary:
Sets up and operates numerical control machine to machine honeycomb panels to specifications by performing the following duties.
Shift Requirement for this role:
3rd Shift - 10:30pm - 6:00am
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensions of finished work piece.

Using machine controls, operator retrieves programs.

Manipulates controls and enters commands to index cutting tool to specified set point and to start machine.

Changes cutting tools & location of work piece during machining process per setup instructions.

Measures work piece for conformance to specifications.

Notifies supervisor of discrepancies.

Machines materials such as honeycomb panels and honeycomb core.

Check cutter size and wear. Also add edits to accommodate actual cutter diameter to prevent parts not meeting tolerances.

Is not permitted to alter programs without supervisor or programmer’s sign-off/approval.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education (Required)

Must be able to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing

Must be able to lift, push & pull a minimum of 50 lbs.

Ability to reach, grab, pull, and work with hands.

Understand drawings, ASME Y14.5 geometric tolerances

Ability to read and interpret blueprints
-
Understand CNC machine program M codes and G codes
-
Ability to satisfactorily use computer based software tools
-
CNC machining experience (Honeycomb panels is a plus)
-
Previous experience of operating Thermwood Router machine/control is a plus.

Minimum 1 years of CNC operating experience
