Work Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Overtime available
2nd Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3:30 pm – 2:00 am, Overtime available
Position Summary:
As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for layout, fabrication, fitting, and welding of plate and/or structural steel and stainless steel, adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Press Brake Operator Essential Tasks:
- Review shop packet comprehensively including drawings, layouts, and templates.
- Accurately identify required materials and move them to the work area, ensuring proper material identification and marking.
- Execute setup and perform necessary layouts.
- Identify measuring and inspection methods, obtain required templates if necessary.
- Perform quality checks, fill out measurement data, and inspection sheets, ensuring compliance.
- Stay focused and complete tasks within allocated time.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in the work area.
- Move finished parts to designated areas.
- Return paperwork to the shop office and confirm completion of required processes.
Press Brake Operator Position Qualifications:
- Ability to read blueprints and follow work orders.
- Proficiency in basic shop math.
- Familiarity with basic CNC controls.
- Basic knowledge of various types of steel.
- Previous experience with Press Brake operations, minimum 400T.
- Experience in layout and fitting.
- Proficiency in material handling including overhead crane operation and forklifts.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting at least 50lbs and standing for 8-10 hours.
- Capability to climb inside and on top of structures.
- Ability to meet quality requirements.
- Strong team player.
Press Brake Operator Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of various steels and alloys.
- Familiarity with Press Brake tooling.
- Experience operating a 1000T press brake or larger.
- Proficiency in layout experience and development calculations.
- Use of various shop fabricating equipment such as Aaws, shears, bug-o track burning, press brakes, plate rolls, hand plasma torches, etc.
Press Brake Operator Education & Experience:
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Technical school certificate preferred.
- Additional education or on-the-job training documentation.
- Preferred experience of at least 3 years in a shop or manufacturing environment.
